About this game
Yelken is a word puzzle — and a language teacher when you want one.
You choose the interface language and the puzzle language separately. Match them
and you get a pure word game: clues are crossword clues and review is off. Differ
them and you are in learning mode: every word you solve enters a review schedule,
returns at the right interval and settles in for good.
Three languages are ready: Turkish, English and Spanish. All nine pairings
work — learn Turkish from a Spanish interface, or solve Spanish from an
English one.
FOUR MODES
• Crossword — Place intersecting words from their clues.
• Word Hunt — Trace hidden words in the grid with your finger.
• Sailor's Knot — Find the word letter by letter; every miss tightens the noose.
• Voyage — Two ways to sail: Free Voyage is a six-port run you can lose (a
different puzzle at every port, three supplies, a boon after each one). In
Duel you play the same four ports as an online rival; the higher score takes
the trophies, and you climb the Trophy League from Harbor to Legend.
SPACED REPETITION
Every word you solve enters a review schedule. Words you know come back rarely;
words you struggle with come back often. The app works out what to ask and when.
A DAILY RHYTHM
The daily puzzle is the same for everyone and can be played once a day. Keep your
streak and the reward grows; miss a day and a streak freeze steps in.
11,400 WORDS
5,600 English words from everyday speech to academic language, spanning A1 to
B2, each with a Turkish and Spanish meaning, a definition, an example sentence
and audio — plus a 3,300-word Turkish set and a 2,500-word Spanish set with
their own crossword clues, and more than 1,600 proverbs and idioms that show
up in game mode. Every word was checked against TDK, RAE and Cambridge.

• Two themes: Dark and Light — both free.
• Interface language and puzzle language are chosen separately.
• Sound, haptics, notifications and difficulty are yours to set.
