About this app

Metro Launcher replaces your home screen with a clean, tile-based Start screen inspired by the classic tile phones of the early 2010s.

LIVE TILES
• Unread counts and the latest message on app tiles
• Now playing with album art on music apps
• Clock, alarm and your next appointment on clock and calendar tiles
• Weather tile with current conditions and the next days
• Photos tile slideshow and People tile mosaic
• Android widgets inside tiles

START SCREEN
• Small, medium, wide and large tiles, in four or six columns
• Press and hold to move, resize or unpin
• Folders: drop one tile onto another
• Pin app shortcuts and widgets

APP LIST AND SEARCH
• Alphabetical list with a jump grid
• Search apps, shortcuts and the web as you type

MAKE IT YOURS
• Dark or light theme and 20 accent colours
• Photo backgrounds, see-through tiles or your wallpaper
• Themed icons and icon packs
• Turnstile and tilt animations

EASY ON BATTERY
Nothing runs or animates while the home screen isn't showing. There is no background service, no polling, and a black theme that saves power on OLED screens.

PRIVACY
No ads, no accounts, no analytics. Notifications, contacts, calendar and photos are read on your phone only and never leave it. The only data sent anywhere is the weather tile's location (rounded to about 1 km) to Open-Meteo, and only if you add a weather tile.

PERMISSIONS (all optional)
• Notification access: counts, messages and now playing on tiles
• Contacts: photos on the People tile
• Calendar: next appointment on the calendar tile
• Approximate location: weather for where you are
