Short films for everyone!
The app adOHRi transmits the audio description (AD) of selected short film programs to your ear. In this way you can receive the film description directly in the cinema and experience the variety of short films.
The number of accessible short films is increasing and more and more short film programs are being put together by distributors. Ask your trusted cinema about the possibility of a barrier-free screening. The aim is to make short films accessible to everyone.
Take your personal headphones to the cinema and start the app. The audio description is transmitted to your mobile device via WiFi. You can control the volume from your mobile device so you can experience the original film sound through the theater audio system and the audio description through the headphones.
The sound is not transmitted through the speakers of the mobile device. So make sure your headphones are plugged in. For the best experience, come to the cinema with your mobile device charged and use wired headphones if possible.
For optimal reception of the audio description, adOHRi may disconnect your mobile device from the internet until you exit the app.
What is an audio description?
With an audio description, the film is transformed into an audio film. Scenes, actors, facial expressions and gestures as well as camera work are put into words by professional audio film authors. The picture descriptions can be heard for blind and visually impaired viewers during the dialogue breaks in the film.
This measure was co-financed with taxes based on the budget passed by the Saxon state parliament.
