Fav brings three small pleasures into one app, with a calendar that ties them all to the days you lived them.

✍️ HAIKU — written the way you actually write
──────────────────
Fav does not assume that haiku means 5-7-5. You choose, poem by poem.

• 5-7-5 — the traditional form, with each line counted for you
• Free form — short-long-short, the way most English haiku are written today
• A syllable counter that shows how each line is running, and lets you correct it by hand when it disagrees with you
• A dash button for the cut (kireji) — the pause that sets two images against each other
• Senryu, tanka and one-line monoku are all at home here
• 256 English season words, each with a short note: first frost, dawn chorus, long shadows, thaw day
• Northern or Southern hemisphere — set it once and the seasons follow you

Writing in Japanese instead? Every Japanese feature is still here: over 500 traditional kigo with readings and meanings, makura-kotoba, and proper vertical writing for Japanese poems. Fav is fully bilingual — switch the whole app between English and Japanese whenever you like.

Finish a poem and Fav lays it out as an image: your words, a photo behind them if you want one, a date, and a red seal with your pen name. Save it or share it.

🏆 BANZUKE — rank anything, sumo style

The banzuke is the ranking chart of Japanese sumo, and it turns out to work for absolutely everything.

• Ramen shops, songs, hot springs, cats — anything you can list
• Type the names in order and Fav assigns the ranks: yokozuna, ozeki, sekiwake, komusubi
• East and west sides are worked out for you
• Save the finished chart as an image and share it
• Add a poem to the chart, and it is printed there too

📚 COLLECTIONS — your own illustrated catalog

• Photograph and note the things you find, one at a time
• Merchandise, trading cards, manhole covers, insects, plants, places you ate — the subject is up to you
• Set a target number and watch the completion bar fill
• Add things you want but do not have yet, and use it as a wishlist
• Rate each item, record when and where you got it, and what you remember about it

Inside every collection there is also a scrapbook. Stick photos in, resize and rotate them, crop them square, rounded, circular or star-shaped, draw on them by hand, set a two-color background, and add text boxes for a diary entry, a quote or a lyric. One page at a time, it becomes a book.
