About this app

Yify is a movie discovery app. Browse a large movie catalog, play the official trailer for anything that catches your eye, check the rating, cast and runtime, then see where to stream it.

Trying to decide what to watch tonight? Yify plays official trailers and points you to the streaming services that carry the movie, so you can make the call in a couple of taps.

A HOME SCREEN WORTH SCROLLING
- Opens on a full-screen spotlight: artwork, rating, year, runtime, age rating, genres and a line of synopsis
- The spotlight's official trailer starts silently behind the artwork - tap to unmute, or expand it to full playback
- More Info opens the movie, and the plus button saves it to your list
- Curated rows: Just Added, Top 10 of All Time, Critically Acclaimed and Loved by Viewers
- Fifteen genre rows of movies: Action, Adventure, Animation, Comedy, Crime, Documentary, Drama, Fantasy, Horror, Mystery, Romance, Sci-Fi, Thriller, War and Western
- View All on any of these rows opens the catalog already narrowed the same way, and nothing repeats across the rows

TRAILERS THAT KEEP PLAYING
- Open a movie and its official trailer loads at the top of the page, ready to play with full controls
- Shrink it into a corner miniplayer and carry on browsing while it plays; tap it to go back, or close it in one tap
- When a trailer ends, the next related movie's trailer rolls straight on
- Movies with no trailer get a still and a plain note, not a broken player

EVERY MOVIE IN DETAIL
- Rating out of 10, year, runtime, age rating and genres on a single line
- A synopsis that starts short and opens in full, with genre chips that jump into a filtered browse
- The cast, with photos and the characters they play
- Stills you can open full screen and pinch or double-tap to zoom
- More like this, so one movie leads you to the next
- Share a movie with a friend, trailer link included

WHERE TO WATCH
- Where availability is listed for your region, a Watch on row shows the services carrying the movie, marked Stream, Rent or Buy
- Tap one to open that service and pick it up there
- Availability data comes from JustWatch, and coverage varies by movie and by country

YOUR WATCHLIST
- Save any movie with one tap and it gets its own row on the home screen
- My List opens as a collection with cover art and a count, and Play all runs the trailers for every saved movie that has one
- Remove a title and the grid closes the gap straight away

SEARCH AND FILTERS
- Full-screen search that remembers your last eight searches
- 20 one-tap categories that re-filter the grid instantly and stay pinned under the top bar as you scroll
- Filter by genre and by a minimum rating from 1+ to 9+, and sort by date added, title, year or rating
- Save those as your browsing defaults so the movies screen always opens the way you like it
- An endless grid with pull-to-refresh and a button that snaps you back to the top

BUILT FOR ANDROID
- Light, dark, or follow your phone - your choice, and every screen is designed for both
- Phone, tablet and foldable layouts that add columns as the screen grows
- Artwork is cached, so scrolling stays smooth
- Your reduce-motion setting is respected, and buttons, posters and settings rows are labeled for TalkBack
- An optional daily check for new releases, with a notification that opens the movie
- Yify contains ads. A Support Yify subscription removes Yify ads. YouTube and other services may still show ads. Signing in is optional - it syncs your list across devices and is only needed if you choose to support the app

GOOD TO KNOW
Yify is a browsing and discovery companion, not a video service. The only video that plays in the app is a movie's official YouTube trailer; everything else is information, plus links out to the streaming services you already use. An internet connection is required. There is no account to create: your saved list is kept on this device, and Settings can clear it or your recent searches whenever you like.

Ratings and reviews

When I click on a movie there is no option to download it. Only a link to the trailer on Youtube. That's it. And I paid for it. Congrats, you got me. Make some money fast and get out.

App finds movies but does not allow them to open or anything. Just a black blank square at the top (phone).
