When you leave a company, procedures for health insurance, pension, resident tax, and unemployment benefits all come at once in a short period. This notebook helps prevent misunderstandings such as: "I didn't know that voluntary continuation was only possible within 20 days, so I missed the deadline," "The deadline for National Health Insurance and pension expired while I was waiting for my separation certificate," or "I was surprised to receive a resident tax payment notice after I quit."

Simply enter your resignation date, salary, previous year's annual income, prefecture, and number of dependents, and the app will display the deadlines counting from the day after your resignation, along with estimated insurance premiums and taxes.

■ Deadlines are listed in chronological order
- Application for voluntary continuation (within 20 days from the day after retirement, must arrive by this date), National Health Insurance enrollment and National Pension switch (within 14 days), family dependents, estimated arrival date of separation certificate, Hello Work, resident tax payment slip, and tax return are displayed separately under sections: before retirement, 20 days after retirement, after receiving separation certificate, resident tax, and tax return.
- Deadlines falling on weekends, holidays, and the year-end/New Year period (December 29th to January 3rd) are extended to the next business day.
- At the top of the home page, you'll see "Number of days since retirement" and "Number of days until the next deadline."
- Check off completed procedures. You can also leave notes.

■ Which is cheaper, National Health Insurance or voluntary continuation?

* **Voluntary Continuation:** Monthly premiums are calculated based on the rates for all 47 prefectures of the Japan Health Insurance Association (FY2026), long-term care insurance premiums (ages 40-64), and child and childcare support payments (maximum standard monthly remuneration of 320,000 yen).
* **National Health Insurance:** Monthly premium ranges are estimated based on the FY2026 rates for Tokyo's 23 wards, Osaka City, Nagoya City, Yokohama City, and Fukuoka City. The number of dependents is also reflected.
* **For those under 65 who quit their jobs due to company reasons or unavoidable circumstances, the amount including the National Health Insurance reduction (calculated using 30% of the previous year's salary income; also reflected in the determination of the flat-rate premium reduction) is also displayed.
* **Guidelines for eligibility as a dependent under a family member's health insurance (estimated annual income of less than 1.3 million yen [1.8 million yen for those 60 and over, 1.5 million yen for children aged 19-22, etc.], daily unemployment benefit amount).
* **The three options are listed side-by-side, and the one with the lowest estimated amount is marked as "recommended (guideline)".** If the difference is small, we won't force a recommendation and will guide you through the calculation at the local government office.

■ Money for the 3 months after retirement
・Remaining resident tax (for retirements between January and April, it will be a lump sum from the final paycheck; for retirements between June and December, it will be a lump sum or payment slip) and an estimate of the number of payment slips and due dates
・National pension (17,920 yen per month. 0 yen if you apply for the retirement exemption), and the chosen health insurance, shown in a monthly table
・An estimate of the resident tax payment slip that will arrive in June of the following year, also provided in advance
・Once you have found your next company, switch to the company's insurance from the month you join and display it accordingly

・How to revert when you have found your next company (withdrawal from national health insurance must be within 14 days of joining the company, loss of eligibility for voluntary continuation, and reverting to resident tax deduction)

- Receive a single notification at a fixed time each day regarding pre-retirement confirmations, voluntary continuation deadlines, national health insurance and pension deadlines, separation certificates, resident tax payment deadlines, and tax return filing (can be turned on or off for each type).
- Home screen widgets display "Next Deadline" and "Days Left".
- Export a list of procedures and selected items as a CSV file. The entered information is stored only on this device and can be transferred via Android backup when changing devices.

■ About Amount Calculation
The estimated amount is calculated based on the 2026 (Reiwa 8) system published by the Japan Health Insurance Association, Japan Pension Service, Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, National Tax Agency, Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, and local municipalities. National health insurance premiums vary by municipality, so the rates shown are based on a range across five cities (rates may differ in other municipalities). Health insurance association rates, retirement tax, and unemployment benefit amounts are not included in the calculation (see "Unemployment Insurance Notebook" for estimated unemployment benefits). Actual premiums and tax amounts will follow the notifications from each institution. System figures are reviewed annually in March and April.

The app is free. Ads such as banners on the home screen can be removed with a one-time in-app purchase (no monthly payments).
