Satchel keeps the text you type again and again, such as replies, addresses, links and sign-offs, and puts it one tap away while you're in another app.
Tap the floating bubble, tap a snippet, and it goes into the text box you're typing in. It works with the keyboard you already use: there's no new keyboard to install or switch to.
HOW IT WORKS
• Save a snippet: type it in Satchel, share text to Satchel from another app, or select text in apps that support it (such as Chrome) and tap Save to Satchel.
• In the app you're using, tap the bubble and tap the snippet you need.
• With direct paste on, the snippet goes straight into the text box. Otherwise, or where an app doesn't allow it, Satchel copies it for you to paste.
• To put the bubble away, drag it to the X or long-press it.
KEEP IT ORGANISED
• Folders, tags and pins
• Search all your snippets
• Sort by newest, or by what you used most recently
• Titles are optional: a snippet without one shows its first line
• Put your folders in the order you want
• Select several snippets to pin, move, tag or delete them together
• Narrow the list by folder, or by several tags at once, in the app and in the bubble
MORE WAYS TO REACH YOUR SNIPPETS
• A home-screen widget for your pinned snippets
• Make any widget see-through, so your wallpaper shows
• A Quick Settings tile and a widget to turn the bubble on and off
SATCHEL PRO (OPTIONAL)
Everything above is free and stays free. Satchel Pro is a one-time purchase, with no subscription, that adds:
• More widgets: one folder's snippets, your recently used snippets, and a button that saves what you just copied
• Colours for the app and the bubble, plus bubble size, transparency and auto-hide
• Variables such as today's date and the time, filled in when you paste
• Folders that open by themselves in the apps you choose
• The snippets you paste most in each app
• Share a folder as a file, such as a team's standard replies
YOUR TEXT STAYS ON YOUR PHONE
• No account, no ads, no analytics
• Satchel has no internet access
• Nothing is captured automatically: Satchel only saves what you choose to save
• Export your snippets to a file, with an optional password, and import them on a new phone
DIRECT PASTE
Direct paste uses Android's accessibility service to put a snippet into the text box you're typing in. Satchel explains what it reads and asks you before you turn it on. It reads the text box only at the moment you tap a snippet, so it can put the snippet in the right place, and it doesn't save or share anything on your screen. With Satchel Pro, it also checks which app is open when you tap the bubble, to open the folder you chose for that app and show what you paste there most; that count stays on your phone, and you can switch it off or erase it. Without direct paste, Satchel still works by copying.
