About this app

G-Circle is an app that visualizes and records (logs) the acceleration (G) acting on a vehicle in real time, allowing for later playback. It displays acceleration in the forward/backward direction (acceleration/deceleration) and the left/right direction (cornering) on an "acceleration circle," allowing for intuitive understanding of the vehicle's behavior.

■ Main Features

【Real-time Acceleration Display】
Displays forward/backward and left/right acceleration in real time on the acceleration circle. In addition to the current acceleration, it can simultaneously display the trajectory for up to 30 seconds.

【Installation Angle Correction (Supports Any Mounting Angle)】
This is a key feature of this app. Even without precisely mounting the smartphone horizontally and directly in front, a simple two-step correction adjusts the mounting angle, allowing for accurate acceleration measurement relative to the vehicle. It can be used without worrying about the angle of the dashboard or holder.

・Static Correction: Aligns the front/rear axes while the vehicle is stationary.

・Forward/Backward G Correction: Aligns the left/right axes while moving straight forward.

【Log Recording】
In addition to forward/backward and left/right acceleration during driving, it can record both the raw values and low-pass filter values from the acceleration sensor. GPS location information and speed are also recorded. Even long recordings are automatically split into multiple files. It can be used not only for driving but also for acquiring and analyzing acceleration sensor values themselves.

[Playback and Review of Recordings]
Play back recorded driving. The acceleration circle, graph, and map are synchronized, allowing you to review "where and what kind of acceleration occurred" in chronological order.

[Map Display]
Displays the driving trajectory on a map using OpenStreetMap. During playback, the position on the map and the acceleration are synchronized.

[Seeking During Playback]
During playback, you can jump (seek) to the playback position by tapping the route on the map or dragging the graph left or right. The acceleration circle, graph, and map all move in sync.

[Graph Display]
In addition to time-series graphs of acceleration and velocity (forward/backward, left/right, and combined), gyroscope (angular velocity) is also displayed. Detailed data analysis is possible.

[Sound Based on Acceleration]
A sound function where the pitch changes according to the magnitude of acceleration. You can experience the change in acceleration through sound without looking at the screen. The threshold for sound activation and the pitch increments are adjustable. [CSV Export]
Recorded data can be exported in CSV format for sharing. Detailed analysis is possible using spreadsheet software.

[Display Customization]
You can adjust the setting of the outermost circle's acceleration (the reference point), smoothing (low-pass filter), trajectory/graph display time, map size, etc.

■ For those who:
・Want to objectively understand their own driving
・Want to record and analyze driving on circuits and winding roads
・Want to measure and record acceleration and angular velocity, not limited to cars

■ Notes on Use
This app is intended to assist with measurement. Prioritize safe driving and do not operate the app while driving. Measurement values depend on the accuracy of the device's sensors, so please use them as reference values.

This app is free to use (ads are displayed).
