Imposter Game is a party word game built around one simple question: who is bluffing? Most players receive the same secret word, while the imposter sees only the category. Everyone gives a clue, listens for an answer that feels out of place, and votes for the player they think is faking it.

A round is easy to understand but never automatic. An obvious clue may reveal the secret word to the imposter who is listening for exactly that. A vague clue may make an honest player sound like the liar. The best clue proves that you know the answer without making the next player's job too easy.

PLAY ONLINE WITH FRIENDS

Create a private room, choose your categories, and share the six-character room code or invite link. Friends join from their own phones, whether they are sitting beside you or calling from somewhere else. Online rooms have no public lobby and no chat with strangers, so the game stays with the people you invited. No sign-up is required.

PLAY OFFLINE ON ONE PHONE

When everyone is in the same place, start an offline pass-and-play game. Add the player names, choose one or more word categories, and hand the phone around so each person can view their role in private. After the words are loaded, the full round continues offline on that device with no internet needed.

HOW TO PLAY

1. Choose an online room or a single-phone game.
2. Set the player count, imposters, rounds, and discussion time.
3. Most players see the same secret word; the imposter sees its category.
4. Each person gives a clue without saying the word.
5. The group discusses the answers and selects its suspects.
6. The reveal shows whether the vote found every imposter.
7. An imposter who gets caught still has one final chance to guess the secret word.

Imposter Game is a party game for groups of 3 to 20 players. Combine multiple categories in one game, adjust how many imposters are hiding in the group, and choose the number and length of the rounds. The built-in timer keeps discussions moving, while scores and player statistics carry the story from one round to the next.

Some players spell the hidden role “imposter” and others spell it “impostor.” Either way, the challenge is the same: give a believable clue, read the room, catch the imposter who is bluffing, and survive the vote when the secret role is yours.
