Kinia is a family location-sharing app that doesn't track you on a map all day. Instead, it gently delivers the rhythm of daily life through area alerts and wellness checks.

The default: Area Alerts only

By default, Kinia does not share real-time location on a map. Register places like home, school, or work as "alert areas," and you'll be notified only when a family member arrives or leaves.

"Did they get there safely?" — that small reassurance, without the need to ask.

Detailed sharing when you need it
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

For younger children or late nights, sometimes you need more detail. Switch to "Share in Detail" mode to see real-time location on a map, movement history, and activity status.

You can set different levels for each family member — "detailed for this child, area alerts only with my partner." As your child grows, gradually loosen the sharing level at your own pace.

Privacy & Security

Because this is about family, we handle your data with the utmost care. Kinia believes the best security is not having your data in the first place.

- Location data is encrypted before reaching the server — even we can't read it
- The passphrase (encryption key) never leaves your device
- No personal names stored on servers — only random IDs
- Group passphrases are one-way hashed with SHA-256
- Location history auto-deletes after 7 days
- No ads. No third-party data sharing. Ever
- Delete your account and all data from within the app

Getting Started
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

1. Install the app
2. Sign in with Google
3. Create a group (just choose a passphrase)
4. Share the invite code with your family
5. They enter the code — you're connected

Permissions
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

- Location (background): Used to deliver area entry/exit alerts and share your location with family members even when the app is closed
- Physical Activity: Used for step counting and activity detection
- Notifications: Used for area entry/exit alerts

Location data is shared only within your family group.
