Club Deportivo Guadalajara better known as Guadalajara, --Chivas Rayadas del Guadalajara or simply Chivas-- is a professional soccer club based in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. It was officially founded on May 8, 1906.
It has participated in the highest category of Mexican professional football, the First Division of Mexico, since its foundation in 1943, being, together with Club América, one of the only two teams that have managed to play all the tournaments of said competition. It occupies second place in the ranking of league titles obtained with a total of 12. Likewise, it holds the second position in the list of clubs with the most national titles in Mexico with a total of 24 (twelve in the League, four in the Cup Mexico, seven from the Champion of Champions and one from the Mexican Super Cup). It occupies the second place in the historical classification of the First Division. At the international level, they have won the CONCACAF Champions Cup in 1962 and 2018, they also finished second on two occasions, while they were runner-up in the Copa Libertadores in its 2010 edition. Along with Club América, they also star in the Mexican soccer Clásico known as "El Clásico de Clásicos" or the "Clásico Nacional" which is played between the most popular and winning clubs in the history of Mexican soccer.
The colors that identify the club are red, white - from which it receives the nickname "rojiblanco" - and to a lesser extent blue, this range can be seen both on the uniform and on the institution's shield.
