About this app

MicroGuide is the co-pilot for antibiotic therapy for Brazilian physicians. For those who prescribe antibiotics in emergency rooms, wards, or ICUs, empirically deciding between IDSA, ESCMID, ANVISA, and in-house protocols has become a juggling act between 4 PDFs, 3 WhatsApp groups, and an outdated paperback.

✦ EMPIRICAL COMPARATIVE ANTIBIOTIC
Choose the infectious focus (community-acquired pneumonia, complicated UTI, skin/soft tissue, abdomen, CNS, sepsis), the duration of the infection, and whether there has been previous antibiotic treatment in the last 90 days — and the app returns two columns side by side:
• International guideline (IDSA / ESCMID)
• Brazilian guideline (ANVISA / MS / SBI)

Each suggestion comes with dose, route, estimated duration, and the reason for the choice (e.g., coverage for Pseudomonas in complicated hospital-acquired UTI) — so you can quickly check and validate it with your knowledge.

✦ AI-BASED ANTIBIOGRAM
Take a picture of the printed antibiogram (laboratory report). Anthropic's AI (Claude Sonnet 4.5 with vision) reads the table and automatically extracts: microorganism, list of antibiotics tested, Sensitive/Intermediate/Resistant, and MIC when available. Everything is structured, copyable, and requires no typing.

✦ SEPSIS-3 SCORES
Pure qSOFA and SOFA scores — no invention, no "adjustments" not in the consensus. Calculates in 10 seconds, shows the criteria met, and reminds you of the official cutoffs (qSOFA ≥ 2 = attention; baseline SOFA ≥ 2 = organ dysfunction).

✦ CITED GUIDELINES
Each recommendation has the version and date of the consulted guideline (e.g., "IDSA 2024 Guideline on Complicated ICU"). You know where it comes from. No "because the staff said so."
