Air pollution causes millions of premature deaths every year so air quality monitoring is
essential yo protect everyone’s health. Currently, air quality monitoring is mostly performed via large governmental stations, but their data are not published in real time and the mesh is not dense enough to quickly detect local pollution peaks and analyze their causes.
PlanetWatch is a global network of air quality sensors and environmentally-conscious people who help build a dense mesh of sensors to deliver much needed hyperlocal air quality data worldwide. PlanetWatchers buy and deploy air quality sensors outside their homes or carry them while moving in the city or traveling. This approach enables us to quickly deploy low-cost, real-time sensing networks that effectively complement governmental networks.
The same goes for indoor air quality monitoring. Planetwatchers can deploy sensors in their homes and generate data which are instrumental to protect their families’ health and to power scientific studies.

Ratings and reviews

This app is, at this present time, somewhat clunky. My biggest problem with it is that it constantly drops my wallet and I have to reimport it, which is a bit of a pain. Also, data from Type 4 sensors isn't listed for some reason. And I've no idea where to find the new governance features that have supposedly been added with the recent update :(

The app is getting there but it doesn't keep me logged in, so I have to login every time I want to obsessively check my rewards! Maybe add options to to stay logged in or to use biometrics (or both?!) It would also be helpful to see the actual rewards in planets from the sensor. I appreciate that 20%goes back to planetwatch but why not show both the full "mined" amount and then the actual reward amount payed to me?

I purchased a 3 year license for my Awair Element and I was trying to register it with the planetwatch app but I keep getting an error message when I click the + sign to add my sensor that says "you dont have an algorand account in your wallet. Please add a new one." Even though I have my account linked to the app and I have both planet and algo tokens in my wallet balance.
