ShelfDrive brings your self-hosted audiobookshelf library to Android Automotive OS. The app connects your vehicle to your own audiobookshelf server and displays your audiobooks in the car's native media interface.

Instead of a distracting separate player interface, ShelfDrive uses the controls already present in your vehicle: Library, search, cover art, play, pause, rewind, skip buttons, and progress indicator appear in your car's familiar media area.

With ShelfDrive you can:

Browse audiobooks from your Audiobookshelf library in your car
Quickly resume listening to recently played tracks
Search for audiobooks
Browse by author
View cover art and metadata from your server catalog
Play MP3 and M4B audiobooks via your car's media controls
Skip back or forward 15 seconds
Adjust playback speed
Sync your listening progress with Audiobookshelf
Optionally, skip back 15 seconds when paused for easier resumption
Important: ShelfDrive is intended for users who already run their own Audiobookshelf server. The app does not contain any audiobooks or a public catalog. You need an accessible Audiobookshelf instance, your server address, and your login credentials.

ShelfDrive stores login credentials encrypted on your device and only connects to the server you specify in the settings. There are no ads, no analytics SDKs, and no tracking.
