SpeedLight is a mobile viewer for Second Life virtual universe. It is a lightweight, cross-platform viewer. SpeedLight allows performing all the necessary functions: login to Second Life, contact your friends using IMs and local chat and teleport across the world.

v25 (September 2022) update: in cooperation with Linden Lab, SpeedLight offers extra benefits to Premium Plus members:
- unlimited online time at SpeedLight
- advanced 3D World view
- prioritised support

SpeedLight is free! The only limitation is 6 hour online time (you can re-login immediately). The additional Gold facility adds unlimited online time to your avatar.

Ratings and reviews

3D seems to work fine, however I get a data error every time I try to message on local or IM someone. Relogging doesn't help this problem so it basically causes this viewer to be useless to me. I was really looking forward to chatting to my friends while at work too. I still look forward to any updates that fixes this error. I'm glad someone is putting an effort into making a second life mobile viewer.

Still to basic Lacks. Invintory access. No ability to change outfits. The basic 3d view is extremely basic. Think stick figures. It lacks most the features that Luymia has. Wish that app was still being developed. They charge L$ 1,999 a month to be able to stay connected longer than an hour. This app is a text viewer atm of this review. I really wish it was a lot more but it is not. I know the dev needs money to help with development. But this is not worth what they are charging by a long shot.

I remember when these mobile viewers were free a la carte. The pricing for this seems incredibly steep, and it's advertised "free" time is there just to say they offer some. It's literally like an hour a week. It's getting 2 stars at all because the app itself is fine. Just fine. No bugs were experienced, it's features work and whatever. The only reason it's being docked is entirely over its monetization.
