About this app

Traverse turns your phone into an offline map navigator for places where cell service ends. Load your own georeferenced maps, drop and follow waypoints, and see exactly where you are — all without a signal.

BRING YOUR OWN MAPS
Import georeferenced maps you already have and use them fully offline:
• GeoTIFF (with embedded georeferencing)
• MBTiles tilesets
• KMZ (Garmin Custom Maps)
• GPX tracks and waypoints

BUILT-IN MAP LAYERS
Switch between included sources, no account needed:
• OpenFreeMap street base map
• Esri World Imagery (satellite) and World Topographic
• USGS Topo for the United States
• Download Canadian topographic sheets from NRCAN by map grid

WORKS OFFLINE
Save any map area for offline use and keep navigating in airplane mode. Traverse is built for the backcountry — trails, paddling routes, ridgelines, and logging roads where you can't count on a connection.

NAVIGATE AND MARK
• See your live GPS location and heading
• Long-press the map to drop a waypoint; tap a waypoint to see its details
• Navigate toward any waypoint
• Import waypoints and tracks from GPX files
• Measure distances on the map
• Choose your coordinate format (lat/long, UTM, and more)

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
Traverse has no ads and no account. Your maps and waypoints stay on your device. Your location is used only to show your position on the map — it isn't collected or sold.

Whether you're hiking, paddling, hunting, flying, or working off the grid, Traverse keeps your maps and your position in your pocket.
