About this app

UDHR Wall Flag app is primarily intended as instructional aid for discussing human rights in class. Each of the 30 Articles in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights are represented by their corresponding numbered symbol in the Wall Flag. The Preamble in the Declaration are also illustrated by two icons, hence a total of 32 circular images of equal size.

A link to the online UDHR One Hour Crash Course is located at the top right corner. By clicking it, one can make a donation or freely register and access the material 24/7. At the opposite top left corner, a Language Selector allows users to choose from available translations of the Universal Declaration. For the initial release, only the Global English version is available.

This platform has been developed over a period of four years and widely tested and evaluated among hundreds of diverse audiences including high school students, college students, teachers, civil society groups, faith-based communities, musicians, creatives, NGO workers, human rights activists and advocates and random general crowds – in both virtual, hybrid, and full face-to-face settings. It is adjudged by the overwhelming majority to be lighthearted, straight to the point and “easy to follow but not shallow.”
