Yourora helps you decide if the northern lights are worth going out for tonight. Aurora borealis, in plain language, for the location you're in.
Built around northern European data, Yourora combines local measurements, forecasts, weather, darkness and real-world observations to give you a clear view of what is happening now and what could happen later.
Yourora is a paid membership, there is no free tier. Membership unlocks the full app, from real-time guidance to community observations and alerts.
GO OUT, WAIT OR STAY IN
Yourora answers four simple questions:
• Is aurora activity happening now?
• Could conditions improve later?
• Is the sky clear?
• Is it dark enough?
Solar wind, Kp and Hp30 levels, geomagnetic storms, substorm onsets and CME arrivals all feed that call. Measured conditions and forecasts are kept separate, so you always know what is happening now and what is still predicted. When the outlook is uncertain, Yourora says so.
SIMPLE OR ADVANCED
Simple mode gives you the call and the reason behind it.
Advanced mode opens the data underneath: solar wind, geomagnetic activity, magnetometers, GOES X-ray flux, solar imagery, coronagraphs and forecast models.
REAL OBSERVATIONS
See what people nearby are actually seeing.
Post an observation, attach a photo, join local groups and follow reports as they happen. A photo taken twenty minutes ago down the road often tells you more than any index.
ALERTS YOU CONTROL
Choose what is worth being notified about: Kp thresholds, substorm expansion, solar wind, ionospheric disturbances, ring current, CME arrival, solar flares, coronal holes, or tonight's outlook.
Set quiet hours and the less urgent alerts still arrive, silently, instead of waking you.

Yourora also helps you discover meteor showers, the Milky Way, solar and lunar eclipses, supermoons, moonrise and twilight. The map carries a light-pollution layer, so you can find darker sky within reach.
