Remaris Watch is a Wear OS companion app for hospitality staff — waiters, cooks, and bartenders. It connects directly to your Remaris POS terminal via local Wi-Fi and delivers new orders and messages from tables straight to your wrist, within seconds, even when the watch screen is off.
Key features:
Fast connection: Automatic detection of Remaris POS devices on the local Wi-Fi network with the ability to manually enter the IP address as a fallback option.
Real-time notifications: Receive notifications of new orders and messages from tables instantly.
Fast response: Vibration and automatic screen wake-up for incoming orders ensure that staff never miss a request.
Connection status: Clear indicator of connection status (connected / connecting / disconnected) with the option to quickly reconnect.
History: Easy overview of the history of all received orders and messages.
How does the backend work?
Remaris POS is a local device on the restaurant's Wi-Fi network and does not communicate via the Internet or Google Cloud services, therefore standard push notifications (FCM) cannot be used. In order for orders to arrive in real time and without delay, the application uses a background service that maintains an open connection with the POS while the watch is in use.
A permanent notification on the watch clearly shows when the service is active and connected. You can manually stop the service at any time by pressing the 'Disconnect' button in the application settings. Also, the service is automatically turned off if the Wi-Fi connection is no longer available.
Note: The app requires a Remaris Table Master POS terminal available on the same Wi-Fi network as the Wear OS watch. The application does not function independently without the Remaris POS system.
