The app is a disaster to setup, payment method specifically. Okay, you do that only once. Then it needs a password or fingerprint when you open it. That is not very user friendly in Icelandic winter since the fingerprint doesn't work with cold or wet finger. So, good luck remembering yet another pin. And, last but worst: when trying to scan the QR-code one has to hold the phone upside down touching its edges which leads to the code vanishing.

Doesn't f work. My old bus card (Strætó nemakort) ran out last week so I had to buy the new Klappið card. I tried to use it for the 1st time today and it didn't work. I was trying to scan it for several minutes until the bus driver grew annoyed and just told me to get in 🙃.

Allows visitors to Reykjavík Iceland to register a payment card and buy bus tickets using their own non-icelandic phone. Tickets can be purchased well ahead of activation and once activated last 75 minutes. Basic route planner with map but does not give live bus locations. I was not able to"send" purchased tickets to another phone, so multiple tickets activated on my phone and a ticket scanned for each person when boarding the bus.
