Our tavern in Arezzo
Menarenza is a small hamlet of Bagnoro unknown to many Arezzo people. It takes its name from the Lombards, like the Valtina river which descends from the forest and crosses it. Here we find the old house which in the early 1900s was the home of grandfather Antonio Giusti. In the 1920s it was the Bagnoro primary school, home to many children and the teacher Caterina, until 1927 when grandfather Antonio, during the fascist period, had to grant it to the Stocchi family, the town's shoemakers. Father Francesco Giusti, Antonio's son, took back the wonderful house where he was lucky enough to grow up until 1944, when an English bomb destroyed a good part of it! Casa Giusti remained alone and worn out by time, always accompanied by the Valtina river, until one day the son decided to bring it back to life!
From here the Osteria la Vecchia Scuola was born, and we will write the sequel together!!!
