In 1480 Antonello Sanseverino, Prince of Salerno and Lord of Diano wife Constance, daughter of Federico da Montefeltro, the great Duke of Urbino. In memory of this event, to relive the splendor and magnificence, the Pro Loco of Teggiano (SA), every year, organizes this medieval festival in mid-August. It is a unique opportunity to enjoy all the artistic and cultural heritage of Teggiano seen that in all the sights at the same time open for the occasion, guided tours are possible. Accompanied by flag bearers and drummers, cheered by the melodious sound of the musicians and captivating, distracted by the various shows staged by many jugglers, minstrels, fire eaters can enjoy, along the predetermined path specifically, the delights of cleverly laden dishes in the Taverne.


Among the historical centers of the Province of Salerno, Teggiano (m. 635 s.l.m.) it is certainly the one that has best preserved its ancient appearance of stronghold and it is with this aspect that is presented to those who reach its historical center. In medieval times the then Diano has played a leading role in the history of the Vallo di Diano. In fact, the powerful Sanseverino family built the castle and chose it as a stronghold where they can escape in case of danger. There Antonello Sanseverino, Prince of Salerno and Lord of Diano State, along with many other landowners in the area, he hatched the conspiracy of the barons, a kind of tax revolt against the King of Naples Federico d'Aragona and ended in 1487 with the agreement between the parties.
