About this app

小学1年生から3年生までに習う漢字を学習するための無料アプリです。東京外国語大学のウェブサイトのなかでも、人気コンテンツである「子ども向け教材」をアプリ化しました。ポルトガル語、スペイン語、ベトナム語、フィリピン語、タイ語、英語、ベンガル語、日本語の８言語で漢字の意味などを説明していて、あなたが知っている言葉で、漢字の学習を進めることができます。
漢字に合わせたイラストを用いた説明に加えて、描画と連動した書き順の学習ができます。ドリル型の設問には効果音もあるため、クイズ感覚で学習できるでしょう。漢字の読み方も音声で聴けるだけでなく、録音機能も付けていますので、自分の声や講師の声などを何度でも聴き直すこともできます。
まだまだ開発途上のアプリですので、ユーザーの皆さんと一緒にこのアプリを育てていきたいです。

1. Landscape only, so not as easy to use on a smartphone held in portrait mode. 2. Kanji presented and tested out of order versus standard joyo kanji order. (E.g. 上、下 rather than百、千). A bit like learning the alphabet out of order. 3. Forced to download more data for each chapter. Why not have all iin one store download? 4. Forced to install a Japanese keyboard. Can't convert romanji. 5. Very picky kanji drawing test - can't see the line drawn clearly because finger blocks view as one draws.

This has been very helpful in reinforcing my learning. I don't mind landscaping mode. And the kanji writing practice can be temperamental but it helps me focus and memorize the kanji a bit more, actually. (Currently finishing college course Japanese 1.)

It's a nice app without interruption by ads. I like the exercises of drag in. Just one thing... there is a mistake when doing the exercise for 男 and 女. It marked me wrong when I put 男 in the man's pic and 女 in the girl's... I'm pretty sure I wasn't wrong lol!!
