About this app

"Hiromil - Fatigue and Stress Scan" is an app that measures the state of the autonomic nervous system and objectively examines brain fatigue and stress. Simply place your fingertip on your smartphone's camera for 60 seconds and it will show you how tired and stressed your brain is.

Autonomic nervous system activity is a part of brain activity, and when brain fatigue increases, autonomic nervous system activity decreases. It is also known that when there is stress, the balance of the autonomic nervous system is disrupted and the sympathetic nervous system becomes overstressed.

This app uses the smartphone camera function (maximum 60Hz upsampling) and patents related to autonomic nerve function evaluation held by Fatigue Science Research Institute (http://www.fmcc.co.jp/ginfo.html#anc1). Using this, we provide information on brain fatigue and stress that indicates the state of your autonomic nervous system. Please use this as a simple indicator to understand your health status.

If you would like to evaluate the function of your autonomic nervous system using your smartphone (mobile phone), please download the above app ("Hiromil-Fatigue Stress Scan"). Please be sure to check the app terms of use before using the app. Regarding the use of the app during the trial period (2 weeks after the start of use), we will assume that you have agreed to the terms of use as soon as you start using the app.

Please refer to the FMCC website below for information on the usefulness of objective autonomic nerve function evaluation.

Please note that this service provides easy-to-understand information for the purpose of maintaining and promoting health. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, or prevent disease, and is not a substitute for diagnosis by a medical institution.

◎How to use the app
① Launch the downloaded app "Hiromil - Fatigue Stress Scan" and press the "Take Measurement" button.

②Next, we will check your subjective state (energy, relaxation, amount of activity, motivation, sleep) using the VAS method. Please tell us about your condition by moving the circle on the line below the question item (How are you doing?) to the left or right. The far left indicates a state of no energy at all, and the far right indicates a state of great energy. If you move ○ a little, you will be able to press the "Next" button. Please answer the 5 questions in the same way. After answering the fifth question, a screen will appear where you can enter the time you fell asleep and the time you woke up. Please tell us your bedtime and wake-up time by moving the ○ on the circle line up, down, left, and right. If you move ○ a little, the bedtime and wake-up time will be displayed in the center of the circle. After entering the information, you can press the "Proceed to measurement" button.

③ To measure autonomic nerves, when you place your fingertip on the camera part of your smartphone (please note that it is not the flash part), the image taken by the camera will turn orange, the same color as the sample, and the measurement will take place after a while. It will start. Once started, the remaining measurement time and the pulse wave diagram being measured will be displayed at the bottom of the screen.

If your fingertip hits the camera well, a smooth sine wave (a wave curve that sways up and down regularly) will be displayed, and there will be no jaggies or notches on the curve. If the measurement does not go well, please check the "Frequently Asked Questions for Smartphone Measurement https://www.fmcc.co.jp/faq.html".

Heart rate variability analysis is performed on the pulse measurement results via FMCC Co., Ltd.'s server, and the state of your autonomic nervous system is displayed as "brain fatigue" and "stress." Calculation of “brain fatigue” and “stress” utilizes a patent related to autonomic nerve function evaluation held by Fatigue Science Research Institute (http://www.fmcc.co.jp/ ginfo.html#anc1) It is calculated as follows.

④ Autonomic nerve evaluation results will display "brain fatigue" and "stress", as well as comments on the results. The comments also mention comparisons with previous results, and if more than 30 measurements have been taken, a bespoke comment comparing your average value will also be included.

⑤Furthermore, the evaluation results of subjective conditions related to fatigue and stress are displayed in a visually easy-to-understand pentagonal radar chart format. Together with the autonomic nerve function evaluation results, we provide information that is easy to use in your efforts to maintain and improve your health.

The free trial can be used for up to two weeks after you start using the app. You will no longer be able to use the app after the trial period ends, so if you wish to continue, please tap the button for the paid plan (300 yen per month (unlimited usage)) in the app and enter the necessary information. . Please be sure to check the app terms of use before using the app. By starting to use a paid plan, we will assume that you have agreed to the terms of use.

◎Reliability of autonomic nerve analysis
This app was created under the supervision of a leading autonomic nervous system researcher, Visiting Professor Hirohiko Kuratsune, Faculty of Medicine, Osaka Public University. Accuracy was adjusted through simultaneous measurements with Bonary Light (GMS Co., Ltd.), an ultra-lightweight wireless biosensor (RF-ECG) that can accurately assess the function of the autonomic nervous system by measuring continuous electrocardiogram waves. We have achieved an extremely high positive correlation coefficient for heartbeat interval and a high positive correlation coefficient for autonomic nerve activity. In addition, in elderly people, noise and arrhythmia may be observed, so the correlation may be slightly reduced.

The autonomic nerve function evaluation project that we have conducted so far has been evaluated as the following certified project. The research results have also been published as an academic paper, so please refer to it (http://www.fmcc.co.jp/fatigue.html).
