About this app

Kawasaki’s new advanced infotainment functionality can bring new experiences to every ride. Kawasaki SPIN* is a launcher-style smartphone app displayed on the motorcycle’s LCD instrument panel that can be navigated via switches on the handlebars.

Once displayed on the motorcycle’s LCD screen, the app functions using the same interface as a smartphone.

By downloading third-party apps compatible with Kawasaki SPIN, common functions like navigation, music streaming, and weather reports can be added and used. Currently available apps are listed in Kawasaki SPIN’s library, which will continue to be expanded. The following five apps are included as standard to support your riding lifestyle.

- Contacts: Displays the smartphone’s Contacts list, allowing the rider to select who to call.
- Phone: Calls can be made by inputting a telephone number directly via switches on the handlebars, and calls can also be received. If the caller’s number is stored in the Contacts list, it is displayed on the LCD screen.
- Maps: The motorcycle’s current location is displayed, and destinations can be searched for. A simple view of available routes can also be displayed.
- Music: A list of songs stored in the smartphone’s music library is displayed, and songs can be selected by title. Music can be listened to through a separate headset installed in the helmet.
- Calendar: A calendar function listing upcoming appointments can be displayed. This can be useful for showing meeting times and places while touring.

*The Kawasaki SPIN app is compatible with the Ninja H2 SX and Ninja H2 SX SE (2022 and later models)
*Headset must be purchased by the rider separately.
*Please read the owner's manual and use this application while keeping safety in mind.

So in theory a really good app, but can not get any of the internet based features, nav etc to work, just keeps telling me no internet connection. With Android auto you can set a destination in Maps and when it then opens and mirrors in the car it pulls the info through, shame this doesn't work the same. Same issue with nav apps, as soon as you go into them they come up with no internet. All good in theory, not so good in practice...

So I have got the app working for Maps and I can see the route on my bike screen and can see turns etc. I would like to be able to set the screen to be facing the direction of travel rather than North. I also don't like the way you have to search and select the route on the bike screen, I would have expected to be able to set the route up on my phone and then send it to the bike. Not tried music or phone yet as haven't got a headset fitted in my helmet. When I get that I will test and update my review. Contacts work and setting favorites seem straight forward.

2022 H2, brand new phone, brand new senna helmet with integrated coms. Initially I gave this app one star. Nothing connected, nothing worked, then some of it connected and some didnt. Then the connected bits stopped connecting and visa versa. However, after days of trying to connect and trying again, I came to it today and it worked. Fingers crossed. The one really poor bit though is the scrolling on the key board. Only left right, no up down. That, is ridiculous.
