About this app

Read just by looking. Speed reading because you don't move your eyes or the pages.

Concentrated Reading is a "flash reading" app that automatically divides text into easy-to-read sections and displays them one after another at a single point on the screen.

Because you don't move your eyes, your brain can concentrate solely on "reading." No training required. Anyone can do it, right now.

▼ Have you ever experienced this?

"Even when I open a book, I read the same line over and over again."

"My eyes just skim over the page and I can't absorb the content."

"I want to read, but before I know it, I'm browsing social media."

"I buy ebooks, but I never end up reading them."

"I want to concentrate, but before I know it, I'm thinking about something completely different."

This might not be a "concentration problem," but rather a "reading method problem."

▼ How Concentrated Reading Works

Concentrated Reading uses a technique called "flash reading."

(1) The proprietary engine automatically divides the text into "easy-to-read chunks."

(2) The chunks are displayed one after another at a single point on the screen.

(3) Because you don't move your eyes, your brain can fully concentrate on "reading."

The words "come to you," so you don't need to maintain concentration yourself.

We've received feedback from people who have difficulty concentrating or those with ADHD characteristics saying, "This is the first time I've been able to read to the end."

▼ Main Features

【Proprietary Japanese Segmentation Engine】

English is easy to divide sentences because words are separated by spaces. However, Japanese
doesn't have spaces. With kanji, hiragana, and katakana mixed together, determining where to divide the text for natural reading was an extremely difficult problem.

For concentrated reading, we spent a long time developing a proprietary segmentation engine. It naturally groups particles and auxiliary verbs, generating "easy-to-read chunks" where the meaning easily sinks in.

This segmentation accuracy is the core of a comfortable speed-reading experience.

[Vertical/Horizontal Text Switching]
Supports vertical text display, unique to Japanese. Read novels vertically, news horizontally—whichever you prefer.

[Flexible Speed Adjustment]
From 100 characters/minute to 8,000 characters/minute. Start at your own pace without feeling overwhelmed.

[Adaptive Speed]
Automatically suggests the optimal speed based on your comprehension level. Achieves "fast but understandable."

[Bookmarks]
Avid readers will understand.
Save interesting passages with a single tap while reading. Bookmark as many as you like and review them all later.
Never miss those "important" moments while speed reading.

[Read Anything]

Clipboard, URLs, PDFs, EPUBs—import your favorite texts and speed read them directly.

[Read a Book During Your Commute]

Once you get used to it, you can finish a paperback (approximately 100,000 characters) in 1-2 hours. One book during your one-way commute.

Plato's "Crito" in 12 minutes and Jun'ichirō Tanizaki's "In Praise of Shadows" in 15 minutes are possible even for beginners.

[Get Masterpieces from Aozora Bunko]

You can directly import classic and contemporary masterpieces from Aozora Bunko—by authors like Osamu Dazai, Ryūnosuke Akutagawa, Kenji Miyazawa, and Sōseki Natsume—from within the app.

Since it's copyright-free, you can read as many books as you like for free.

[Reading Statistics]

Records the number of words read, reading speed, and consecutive days. You can see your progress.

▼ Scientific backing

The RSVP (Rapid Serial Visual Presentation) technology used in concentrated reading originated from cognitive psychology research in the 1970s.

Approximately 80% of human reading time is spent on eye movements (saccades). Concentrated reading eliminates this loss and maximizes the brain's processing power.

Japanese, in particular, including kanji, is a language that is more compatible with this technology than English, because its ideographic nature allows for immediate recognition of meaning.

On the other hand, dividing Japanese, which lacks spaces, into "readable units" is a technical challenge that does not exist in English.

Although many attempts have been made, sufficient accuracy has not been achieved until now, despite the advancement of technology.

At our company, we have tackled this challenge head-on by leveraging the power of AI, and by developing our own segmentation engine, we have succeeded in unlocking the full potential of Japanese RSVP.
