About this app

EMMU is an app for musicians, offering both practice tools and group management.

It features 17 music tools, including sheet music creation, recording, tuner, metronome, key/BPM detection, range check, ear training test, and chord/scale display.

Furthermore, it allows you to manage band, light music, wind ensemble, choir, dance, and club activities in one place, from scheduling practice sessions and confirming attendance to creating setlists, sharing sheet music PDFs and audio files, contacting members, announcing live events, and recruiting new members.

■ For Individuals or Groups
・Individual: Create sheet music, tune with the tuner, practice with the metronome, and record to listen back.
・Group: Schedule a date, confirm attendance, share setlists and sheet music, and prepare for the performance.

■ Music Tools (17 types in total)
・Sheet Music Creation
Tap the staff to input notes and rests. It allows you to set chords, dotted notes, ties, tuplets, key signature, time signature, and tempo, and supports playback, loop practice, saving, and group sharing. It also supports reading MusicXML files, saving as PNG, and printing.

* Recording & Playback

Adjust the recording level and record. You can record while watching the illuminated metronome. Saving and sharing are also supported.

* Metronome

Supports 2-6 beat time signatures, tap tempo, direct BPM input, and 8 different tones.

* Key & BPM Detection & Change

Determines the key and tempo of a song from an audio file. You can change the key and tempo and save. Useful for transcribing by ear or finding the right key for karaoke.

* Audio File Conversion

Reads FLAC, WAV, MP3, and M4A files and converts them to WAV, MP3, or M4A. Processing is done on the device without sending files to a server.

* Tuner

Supports guitar, bass, ukulele, violin, viola, cello, double bass, and wind instruments. For wind instruments, you can select C, B♭, E♭, F, and A keys, and for guitars, you can select half-step down tunings, etc. It automatically detects the pitch using a microphone and can also be used as a tuning fork.

* Range Check

Measures the lowest and highest notes using the microphone. Useful for finding the right key, selecting karaoke songs, and vocal training. Result cards can also be shared.

* Ear Training Test

A 10-question test where you identify the sounds played. Supports 4 modes and 3 difficulty levels: note name identification, interval identification, chord identification, and absolute pitch.

* Trumpet Fingering Chart
Supports 10 instruments including B♭, C, E♭, D trumpets, cornet, flugelhorn, and piccolo trumpet. Fingerings are displayed in valve diagrams and staff notation, and you can switch between written and actual pitch, use alternative fingerings, and play sounds.

■ Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Which instruments does the tuner support?
A. In addition to guitar, bass, and ukulele, it also supports violin, viola, cello, and double bass. For wind instruments, you can choose from C, Bb, Eb, F, and A keys, so you can use it with trumpets, clarinets, saxophones, horns, etc.

Q. How do I find out my own vocal range?

A. Simply open the vocal range check and sing in order from low to high notes. The measured lowest and highest notes will give you a guideline for karaoke song selection and vocal training.

Q. Can I improve my sense of pitch?

A. The ear training test allows you to practice identifying sounds by typing them on a keyboard. There are four modes: single note identification, interval identification, chord identification, and absolute pitch without a reference tone. You can also choose the level and range. Each test consists of 10 questions, so you can continue practicing even for just a few minutes before practice.

Q. Can I check the key and tempo of a song?

A. Key and BPM are automatically determined. If you want to change the key for ear training or singing along, you can change it and save it.

Q. Can I see a list of chords and scales?

A. The notes are displayed using a fretboard diagram for guitar and bass, and a keyboard diagram for piano. Ukulele scales are also supported.

Q. Can I use it for communication within clubs or bands?

A. It brings together everything from scheduling practice sessions and confirming attendance to sharing setlists and song order, sharing sheet music PDFs and audio files, and communicating with members. It's suitable for light music clubs, brass bands, choirs, dance clubs, music circles, and more.

Q. Can it be used in areas without a signal?

A. The tuner, metronome, range check, ear training test, recording, and key/BPM determination work offline. Chords, scales, and transposition require an internet connection.

From tuning in, to practice, scheduling, sharing sheet music and audio files, and last-minute communication—EMMU brings everything you need for your music activities into one place.
