About this app

Otodo is a classical Japanese vocabulary learning app that allows you to memorize classical Japanese words by entering their readings one character at a time.

By looking at the word, typing it, and learning its meaning along with the reading, you can acquire the reading, meaning, and kanji spelling all at once.

■Features of Otodo Classical Japanese Vocabulary
・Includes 698 words, sufficient for university entrance exams.

・Includes approximately 1,370 example sentences collected from original texts such as Tsurezuregusa, The Tale of Genji, and Uji Shūi Monogatari. Modern Japanese translations and sources are also displayed.

・You can freely set the number of words to learn at once and whether to display or hide modern Japanese translations.

・You can check difficult words and review them all at once.

■Four Practice Modes
1. Basic Practice
Enter the reading while looking at the classical Japanese word and its meaning. Enter it as you would when writing it down in a notebook.
2. Question and Answer
Look at the meaning and enter the word. Try it when you feel you've memorized it.

3. Multiple Choice Questions
Choose the correct meaning from the four options. A good way to take a break when you're tired of typing.
4. Cards
Similar to flashcards, sort the cards based on whether you've memorized them or not.
