About this app

Timer Listening Cannot Be Started on Android 15

There is an OS bug that prevents audio focus from being acquired from the background when using Android 15 with Target SDK 35 or higher. This prevents playback from starting when using Timer Listening.

Solution 1: Manually Start Playback
A notification will now be displayed if audio focus cannot be acquired. Tapping the notification will start playback.

Solution 2: Force Playback
Settings > Listening/Recording tab > Common > Check "Ignore audio focus acquisition failure and play." If another app is currently playing, this app will begin playback without pausing, and both audio streams will play simultaneously.

Solution 3: Install a Compatible Version
I created an apk file with Target SDK reverted to 34.

* Go to Google Play Store > This app > Uncheck "Enable auto-updates" from the three-dot menu in the upper right corner.
* Uninstall this app.
* Access the link above and download the APK.
* The file is in Google Drive, so you'll need a Google account. If prompted, select an account and click OK.
* Select the package installer.
* If you receive an error about installing an unknown app, click Settings and grant permission.
