“Go Friend” ~Igo tomo~ is a Go game result management app developed under the concept of “Playing Go, More Smartly.”
Setting handicap stones, managing your record, reviewing past games—all can be done smartly via the smartphone app.

Main Features of Go Friend
- Rating Measurement / Rating Display
Play games with Go friends using appropriate handicaps. After several games, your strength will be quantified, enabling matches with fair handicaps.
By consistently using Igo Tomo within your group or Go club, stable handicaps can be calculated, eliminating mismatched, boring games.

- Game Records
Manually input the results of games you've played. Register details like when, where, with whom, and the number of stones placed, along with the outcome. Results can be shared with your opponent.
The more games you play, the more accurate your rating becomes.

- Go Spot Feature
A feature to search for places to play Go across Japan, including Go clubs and community centers, displayed on a map.

- Go Event Feature
A feature to find events like Go tournaments and Go classes happening across Japan.

- Image Registration
You can take and register photos. By photographing the final board position with your smartphone and registering it, you can save not only the result but also the board layout of the game.

- Game Record Registration
A game record registration function (SGF format) is also available. You can register game records using other game record software.
Registered game records can be stored in the clipboard, making analysis in other apps easy.

- Membership Card Function
Display a QR code from the “Personal Information” tab.
Present this QR code at Go clubs that support QR code scanning to use it as a substitute for your physical membership card.

It is designed to enhance and enrich your experience playing face-to-face matches using a physical board and stones.

What’s new

- We've introduced push notifications. You'll receive push notifications the day before and 2 hours prior to events you've registered for via the app.
- Added a match result correction feature. You can now correct match results that were registered in error.
- Reduced rating fluctuations for 9x9 and 13x13 boards. This reflects user feedback that 9x9 boards having the same value as 19x19 boards was unreasonable.
- Increased rating fluctuation for users with extremely high win rates.
