"Kurashi no Manual Kemani" is a mobile lifestyle support tool that helps users quickly achieve their goals by learning how to do simple everyday tasks on the spot.
The tool uses photos and illustrations to systematically explain etiquette, procedures, and skills for daily life, hobbies, business, and more, making it easy to understand anytime, anywhere.
The au official website launched the service for mobile phones in August 2011, and NTT Docomo's i-mode official website launched it in September 2012. Both services have been well-received, ranking highly in the lifestyle category. Currently, smartphone menu sites are also available on NTT Docomo (https://kmani.jp/spmode/), au (https://kmani.jp/au_smart/), and SoftBank (https://kmani.jp/sb_smart/).
The number of how-to guides continues to grow constantly every week, with approximately 3,500 guides listed as of August 2025.
Among the many features are the "Origami" section, which features over 2,085 folding methods (creations); the "Hair Arrangement" section, which features over 240 styles, as well as fashion content such as "Scarves," "Scarves & Stoles," and "How to Tie a Necktie"; and the recently expanded "Lifestyle How-To" section, which is packed with content.
We aim to be Japan's number one lifestyle manual portal, collecting everything from modern essentials like business etiquette to traditional methods and customs that may otherwise be fading away, in an easy-to-understand format.
The "Lifestyle Manual Keimani" GP app is available for download exclusively from Google Play. The app itself is free, but a monthly subscription (monthly membership registration) of ¥300 (plus consumption tax) is required to view the content.
In addition, since the content is downloaded via data communication, a 4G/5G connection (mobile company signals) or Wi-Fi connection is required.
Since many images are downloaded via data communication, we recommend subscribing to a flat-rate data plan if using a 4G/5G connection.
