At the end of the day, this is an IM app. It should not aspire to be any fancier than that. Let's keep this one under 10MB, yes? :) Lose the ads and bring back video feature. Please and thank you. I mean... sure, it might have been sold to some guy in the city, and you could accomplish the same things with Messenger (without the ads) but that doesn't make Kik any less of a Canadian treasure! It used to be fun to use. Now there's bots and shyte cluttering up the UI... but I digress.

I have been using Kik for over 6 years, I have absolutely loved it the whole time until now. I understand that the ads are needed to keep the app alive, but the placement is terrible. It covers up messeges, and is right underneath the username to get to their profile and right above my home button, i don't need to be constantly accidentally tapping on an ad because i want to go to my homescreen but instead tap a little too high and get sent away to ad hell.

It's ok but the video call quality is trash. Very glitchy and hard to hear what your friends/family are saying (this was back when there was a video call option!) It's also not really that safe. Random people can start chatting with you and even if you block them they keep coming back. That's just my perspective but overall not impressed.
