About this app

Upshift Sync is an app that uses an ELM327 compatible OBD-II adapter to check your vehicle's standard OBD information and provided unofficial values ​​specific to your car.

Easy to Start
When you first open the app, you can browse OBD Connection, Dashboard, My Car & Community, and Suggestions through four introductory pages. Finishing or skipping the introduction leads directly to the login screen.

Convenient Five Menus
You can directly access Dashboard, Fault Codes, Vehicle Information, Community, and Suggestions from the menus below.

Check Vehicle Information on the Dashboard
You can check the RPM, vehicle speed, temperature, voltage, and other data provided by your car, and change the tile layout and arrangement. Item names and values ​​are displayed in the center, and tapping a tile opens the settings. If you set minimum and maximum warning ranges, the latest numbers outside the range are displayed on a light red background with red text. Items identified as unsupported and empty categories are hidden from the list.

Unofficial Values ​​for Your Car
It retrieves PID data from the server that matches your selected car model and year, and the last verified data is available for offline use. We only provide data for vehicles and items for which data exists, and even for the same car model, compatibility may vary depending on the year, engine, transmission, and controller. For unofficial candidates, users directly select the vehicle data and the read option for this connection. Incorrect data can be reported via the ‘Request Value Correction’ option in the relevant value settings. There is no function to download arbitrary commands or execution codes.

Checking Fault Codes

You can view saved, pending, and active fault codes, as well as provided freeze frames. Requesting a full clear or individual clear of supported codes requires checking app conditions such as the vehicle being stopped, ignition status, and voltage. Clearing codes does not repair the cause and may also erase other codes, freeze frames, and inspection readiness statuses.

Upshift Account and My Car

If you log in with the same Upshift account, your already registered cars will automatically appear in the Sync list. You can also add vehicles you have personally selected to your Upshift Cars. Google, Kakao, and Naver logins are available, but Apple login is not. Please check the necessary terms of use and information pop-ups after logging in.

Go directly to the vehicle type board

Opens the existing community board corresponding to your selected vehicle in the Upshift app. When searching for a specific vehicle board, your selected vehicle information and existing login session are used. If you do not have the Upshift app or it requires an update, you will be directed to Google Play.

Suggestions to the Management

You can send improvement suggestions through the suggestions section and chat 1:1 with the management team. It uses the same inquiry box as "My Inquiries" on the Upshift web, and only you and the management team can view your content and the response.

Diagnostic records on the device and selected sharing

Values ​​read from the vehicle, fault codes, and VINs are stored on the device and are not automatically uploaded to the Upshift server. Users can send diagnostic posts directly to the OS sharing sheet, and the VIN is hidden. The internet is used for account, consent, linking your vehicle, and data retrieval. If you send a request to correct a value directly, the content you wrote and your selected vehicle information are sent to the administrator.

After logging in and agreeing to the necessary terms, you can view the virtual vehicle's dashboard, fault codes, and vehicle information in demo mode on the connection screen. The demo values ​​are not actual vehicle measurement results.

Please check before use

• A separate OBD-II adapter is required for a real connection and is not included in the app.

• Android supports BLE, paired Classic Bluetooth SPP, and Wi-Fi adapters.

• BMW Extended Addresses and Flow Control items require an adapter that supports the corresponding commands. Compatibility is not guaranteed for all products, vehicles, or model years.

• Displayed information is for reference only and does not replace professional maintenance diagnostics. Please prioritize vehicle warnings and manufacturer guidance.

• Drivers must not look at or operate their mobile phones while driving. The app does not lock the screen simply because the car is moving.
