This mobile app is the official Republic of Korea government app and you can use it to apply for the K-ETA.

K-ETA is an electronic travel authorization that visa-free foreign visitors need to obtain before entering Korea, by submitting relevant information such as their travel information.

Definitely not user friendly. In android version, it requires me to allow app to have an overlay or it won't continue (just as other Android users mentioned before). This is totally ridiculous. So I decided to do the "old fashion" way which is to apply via computer. I just had to compressed the passport picture using Adobe (free), and Biteable (free) to resize the self portrait photo to 700x700 px. Payment went through easy. I got approved!

An impossible app that ruins the reputation of the Korean government! No clear way to take a photo of your passport. The zip code and address look up is a complete mess: slow Internet connection will make it impossible for the server in Korea to auto populate options, and multiple alternate spelling of Korean addresses make it difficult choose. After you run through the gauntlet and reach the payment page, the app crashes or gets hung up! A shameful app!

I thought opening the app took me to their browser-based webpage. It really defeats the purpose, and it's not letting me take photo of my passport biopage. It's slow, can't scan in the details, and when I tried to manually input, it keeps flicking me back to camera mode. After I managed to enter the details and submit, it freezes. How did this pass the user testing?
