About this app

Callback by 405 is a caller ID and call blocking app for small businesses. It shows who is calling, rejects the numbers you block, and texts back the callers you could not take. Android calls this kind of app a "caller ID & spam app" and asks you to set it as one.

CALLER ID
When a call comes in, a notification shows the phone number, the saved contact name, and whether the number is on your block list. You can block that number right from the notification, without opening the app.

CALL BLOCKING
Block exact numbers or whole number ranges. When a blocked number calls, the app rejects the call by itself and the phone does not ring. If you want, the app can send the blocked caller a short notice text.

TEXT BACK MISSED CALLS
When you miss a call, the app sends the caller a message you wrote, by itself, while you are with a customer or away from the phone. You can also send a text after an incoming call ends, or after a call you placed from the app ends.

CONDITIONS
You decide when texts go out. Set days and hours when nothing is sent. Keep a days-off calendar that can repeat weekly or yearly, and skip public holidays. Set a minimum interval before the same number is texted again. Keep a list of numbers that never get a text.

ATTACHMENTS AND SENDING
Add a photo, your business card, or a link to your shop. Send one message to a group at once, or schedule a message for later.

FORWARDING
Have missed calls reported to another number, and forward notifications to another device or app.

SETTING UP
1. Open the app and tap "Turn on now" on the Caller ID & call blocking card. Android asks you to set Callback by 405 as your caller ID & spam app.
2. Allow the permissions the app asks for, one at a time. Each one says what it is for.
3. Switch on "Missed call SMS" and write your message. That is all.

PRIVACY
There is no server and no account. Caller numbers and message text stay on your phone. Backups go only to your own Google Drive, in a folder that belongs to this app.

PERMISSIONS
• Send SMS: used only for the app's automatic texts - the notice to a blocked caller, and the text back to a caller you could not take.
• Phone: used to know that a call started and ended.
• Contacts: used to show the caller's name and to skip numbers you exclude.
• Notifications: used to show the caller ID and the Block button.
The app does not use the call log or read your messages (no READ_CALL_LOG, no READ_SMS). It does not replace your phone app or your messaging app.

FREE FEATURES
Caller ID and call blocking are always free. Automatic texts run on a usage period that you extend by watching an ad, or with a pass.

What’s new

• Everything that sends a text now lives in the Messages tab: automatic texts after a call, shared rules, the exclusion list and forwarding.
