How many more hours of continuing education do doctors, dentists, Korean medicine doctors, nurses, nursing assistants, and midwives need to complete this year, and by when must they file their license and qualification reports? MediPocket is a personal assistant app that calculates and displays the required continuing education hours for this year and the remaining days until the next filing deadline, based on your profession, year of acquisition, last filing year, and any uncompleted or deferred hours. You can use it without signing up, and your entered information and certificates of completion are stored on your phone.
The professions included in this version's calculation are nurses, nursing assistants, doctors, dentists, Korean medicine doctors, and midwives. For all six professions, calculations are based on 8 hours per year and filing every three years by December 31st. Pharmacists, herbal pharmacists, and medical technicians are not included in the calculation.
■ What You Can Do with MediPocket
Time Required for This Year and Remaining Time
- Calculates the required hours for this year by adding uncompleted or deferred hours from past years to the annual continuing education hours. - The remaining time decreases each time a certificate of completion is registered. Time is counted in increments of 0.5 hours.
- Any additional time taken this year is not deducted from the required time for the following year.
- If you mark this year as exempt or deferred, a corresponding guidance message will be displayed.
License/Qualification Reporting D-Day
- The next reporting deadline and remaining days are displayed on the home screen based on the latest year among the acquisition year, the last reporting year, and the reissuance/re-issuance year.
- The card color and icon change starting 30 days before the deadline.
- If the deadline passes, a notice is displayed along with the number of days elapsed, stating that the validity of the license/qualification may be suspended until reporting.
- If reporting is completed, it is marked in the settings, and the next deadline is recalculated based on that year.
Checking Required Courses
- For all six occupations, verify that the total hours of required courses selected within this reporting cycle are 2 hours or more. It is not necessary to take every single course.
- This verification is displayed separately from the annual completion hours required by law. - Nursing assistants review Medical Ethics, Medical Laws and Regulations, and Infection Control based on the work guidelines.
- Korean Medicine Doctors and Midwives review Medical Ethics and Medical Laws and Regulations that are listed in the work guidelines.
- Physicians review Medical Ethics, Medical Laws and Regulations, Medical Infection Control, Adverse Drug Reactions, and Medical Disputes based on the Association's guidelines.
- Dentists review Infection Control, Medical Ethics, and Medical Laws and Regulations based on the Association's guidelines.
- Nurses review Medical Ethics, Medical Laws and Regulations, Infection Control, and Violence/Sexual Harassment/Sexual Assault based on the Association's guidelines.
Certificate Wallet
- Register completed training by entering the course name, completion time, and completion date. Once saved, it is immediately reflected in the remaining hours for the year.
- Registered certificates are grouped by training year.
Notifications
- For the reporting year, notifications regarding the reporting deadline are sent at 9:00 AM on October 1, December 1, and December 24.
- Every year on November 1st at 9:00 AM, we will notify you of the remaining continuing education hours until the end of the year.
- If you have marked this year as exempt, we will notify you on January 5th of the following year when to reapply for the exemption.
- Notifications may arrive slightly later than scheduled depending on your device. The D-Day count on the home screen is recalculated every time the app is opened.
Shortcut to Education & Reporting Pages
- On the Nurse and Nursing Assistant home screens, you can navigate to the education page of the relevant central association. Actual course enrollment and reporting are conducted there.
- This button does not appear on the screens for Doctors, Dentists, Korean Medicine Doctors, and Midwives, as there are no verified education page addresses.

■ Frequently Asked Questions

For doctors, dentists, Korean medicine doctors, and midwives, the annual 8 hours and the 3-year reporting deadline are calculated in accordance with the Medical Service Act. Pharmacists and herbal pharmacists are not included in this version.
Can I report my license or register my completion in the app?
No. MediPocket is an auxiliary tool for calculating hours and dates and storing certificates of completion. Reporting and verification of completion must be done directly through the central association systems of each profession.
How is it calculated if I only completed part of my continuing education last year?
When setting up initially or in the settings, if you enter the hours you have not yet completed in 0.5-hour increments, it will be added to this year's annual hours.
Are the 2 hours for mandatory subjects legally mandated? On the screens for the six professions, these 2 hours are displayed based on the Association and Work Guidelines, and are shown separately from the annual required hours stipulated by law. Subject names vary by profession, and verification is based on the sum of the hours for selected subjects. Please check the guidance provided by your affiliated Central Association for detailed standards.
When will I receive notifications?
Notifications are sent at 9:00 AM on October 1, December 1, and December 24 during the reporting year, and at 9:00 AM on November 1 every year. They may arrive slightly late depending on your device's conditions.

The calculation rules are based on relevant laws and Association guidelines, but results may differ if laws or guidelines change or if individual circumstances vary. Please verify the final result with your affiliated Central Association.
