The Food Recall Scanner is an app that utilizes recall and sales suspension information from the Korea Food Safety Agency to instantly verify whether a product is subject to a recall by taking a picture of a food label or scanning a barcode with a camera.
Key Features:
▶ Camera Scan
When you take a picture of a product packaging or label with your camera, the app automatically recognizes the text using OCR (Optical Character Recognition) to check if the product is subject to a recall. It displays the results along with a matching confidence level (High/Medium/Low).
▶ Barcode Scan
Scan the product's barcode to quickly identify the product and compare it against the recall database.
▶ Text Search
You can search for recalled products by directly entering the product name or manufacturer name. You can check recall information even if the product is missing or the packaging is damaged.
▶ Automatic Synchronization
Automatically updates the latest recall data once a day. You can check recall status using the last synchronized data even when offline.
▶ Scan History Management
You can save and review the history of products you have previously photographed.
▶ Recall Notifications
You will receive a notification if a previously scanned product is newly designated as a recall target. Data Source: Public Data Portal (data.go.kr), Ministry of Food and Drug Safety Food Recall/Suspension of Sales Information
