Sometimes you cannot remember where you parked, or where you put your earbuds.
'Where is?' uses the moment a registered Bluetooth device disconnects as the
signal to save that location automatically. There is no button to press.
■ Nothing to tap
Apps that save a location by hand only work when you remember to use them. But
the day you cannot find something is the day you were in a hurry, and in a hurry
nobody taps anything.
The connection always drops - when you close the car door, when you put your
earbuds back in the case. The app leans on that moment.
■ Works in underground car parks
It saves a location indoors and below ground where the satellite signal is weak.
It picks the most likely spot among several candidates, and shows in words and
colour how far that location can be trusted.
■ Keeps the floor too
In a car park where every floor looks the same, a location alone is not enough.
You can add the floor, and for places you go often the app suggests one first.
■ Devices you can register
· Car Bluetooth and car stereos
· Wireless earbuds and headphones
· Bluetooth speakers and smartwatches
· Item trackers
The kind is detected when you register, and each one appears on the map with its
own icon and colour.
■ Share with family
Pick one device to share. Sharing works per device, not per account, so records
from devices you did not share stay private. You get a notification when the
other person leaves it somewhere.
■ Home screen widget
See the last location without opening the app. Tap the widget to open the map.
■ Signing in is optional
Recording and finding work without an account. You only need to sign in to keep
records when you change devices, or to share with someone.
Recording and the map work without an internet connection. Records saved while
offline catch up on their own once you are back online.
■ How location data is handled
· Without signing in, records never leave your device
· After signing in, only people you share with can see them
· Uninstalling the app removes the records on your device
· Deleting your account removes the records on the server
Everything is set out in the privacy policy.

■ Permissions
· Location (all the time) - the disconnect happens while the app is closed, so
background location is required
· Nearby devices - to notice registered devices connecting and disconnecting
· Notifications - to tell you the result of a recording and share-related news
· Physical activity (optional) - helps judge when a journey has ended.
Recording works normally if you decline
