Awesome app! Thank you! In a short time, this app helped me better understanding scales, modes, and what chords fit within them. For a future enhancement, could add a button to expand the size of the guitar fretboard, so you see all of the notes at once? Also maybe add a square around the root note, to make it stand out. In the meantime, I'm getting used to the color codes. Very intuitive. Thanks!
Gorgeous App! In color and style this is similar to Jim Fleser's Chord Wheel booklet. (I'm no expert, but it seems to have all the same information.) But it has been so elegantly scaled down for the small screen that it is actually clearer and easier to read, and having TWO spinning wheels makes it work better, too. It lacks the booklet's 12 pages of notes, but it does have links to some other useful guides. AND it has fretboard/keyboard charts, and an AUDIO sample when you touch your selected note/chord. Fantastic!
Exquisite! This wheel is laid out exactly the way I want, with the IV, I, V, ii, vi, iii, vii partial ring below the ring of chords. It's the only app like it. Nothing comes close. The Lite version would have been fine but I wanted the chords to run counterclockwise which is available only in the paid version. I was put off by the price because all I wanted was counterclockwise chords, which is the way most other apps do it, but this app does just what I want and its author deserves to eat.
This app is an excellent example of how a smart phone or tablet can dramatically enhance a very old concept. This app does things that are literally impossible to do with a paper wheel! Not to mention, this is the absolute best circle-of-fifths app in the entire Play Store. If you want to move your musical ability past the beginner or intermediate stages, this app is a must have!
Just purchased the software which is very useful. I got some problem in setting major scale. When I moved outer ring to set tonic to B, F sharp, C sharp, I got major scale of B, F sharp and then instead of C sharp that I was expecting, I got D flat major scale. Hence, I could not get a key signature with 7 sharps which is C sharp major scale. I understand C sharp and D flat are enharmonic equivalent though. Similarly, when I moved the outer ring from D flat, G flat, I got major scale of D flat, G flat. On the outer ring, the note name next to G flat was B and not C flat that I was expecting. In fact, I could not find C flat note name on the outer ring and hence I could not get a key signature with 7 flats which is C flat major scale. I understand C flat and B are enharmonic equivalent thought. I am using version 5.0 on Samsung Notes 3. Hope these problems can be resolved soon for such helpful software.
Outstanding This app does everything you could want and more. I'll be using it for a long time coming! Not to mention their customer service is quick to respond and address any concerns about ut. They are obviously very dedicated to the continuing improvement if their app.
