About this app

Pliny tells you what to do today.

It reads the email, documents and recordings you give it, finds the deadlines and requirements buried in them, and turns each one into small steps it can schedule. When the day goes sideways, it rebuilds the plan around what is left.

Today, Not a Backlog
Today shows Now, Next and Later — a bounded queue for the day rather than every task you have ever written down. Each item says how long it should take, how much effort it wants, and why it was chosen. Complete it, start it, snooze it, or say it is not possible today, and the rest of the day re-plans itself.

Focus, With a Way Out
Start opens a single task and a 5, 15 or 25 minute block. If you get stuck there is a button that says so, and it does something about it rather than leaving you there. Finished blocks teach Pliny how long your work actually takes, so a bad estimate costs you nothing.

Capture It However It Arrives
Photograph a letter or a form. Choose a PDF. Record a conversation or a note to yourself. Connect Gmail and Pliny reads the inbox as it arrives. Everything it extracts points back at the exact sentence, page or moment it came from, so you can check it.

Review, Before It Counts
Anything Pliny is unsure about waits in Review with its source beside it. An ambiguous deadline is held as provisional and never shown as confirmed. Nothing enters your plan because software guessed well.

A Plan That Respects the Rest of Your Life
Fixed commitments stay fixed. Scheduled steps go into a dedicated Pliny calendar in Google Calendar, and your other calendars are never touched. Working hours, sleep, breaks and travel time are all part of the arithmetic.

Reminders That Reach You
Reminders escalate from the app to WhatsApp or text on rules you set, with quiet hours respected. Replying START, DONE, LATER or STUCK acts on the task that was mentioned.

A Buddy, If You Want One
Invite someone you trust and grant them exactly what you choose, area by area — tasks, calendar, documents, recordings, evidence — as nothing, view, or edit. They cannot connect integrations, change security settings, export or delete your account, or widen their own access. You can revoke it at any moment and see what they looked at.

Yours to Take or to End
Settings exports everything Pliny holds as a single file, and deletes the account outright. Neither requires asking us.

Pliny is for adults. It plans work: it does not diagnose or treat anything, and it does not submit your work for you. Sign in with Google or Apple — the same account works on the web at pliny.life.

What’s new

Set how a task repeats from the task editor: every day, every weekday, a weekday of your choice, or a few times a week. Editing a repeating task keeps its schedule.
