Tipflation is out of control. Pitip is the tip calculator that does the math you actually want: tip on the food, not on the tax and the mandatory service fee.

SCAN THE RECEIPT

Receipt scanning reads the total, tax, and any service fee straight off the paper. Perfect for restaurant checks, bar tabs, coffee shop slips. Text recognition runs entirely on your phone, so nothing is uploaded and no photo is ever saved. Pitip shows you what it read and lets you correct any amount before it reaches the calculator, because scanning a receipt is a shortcut for typing, not a replacement for checking your bill.

DON'T TIP ON THE FEES

Turn on "Tip before tax & fees" and the gratuity is calculated from the subtotal alone. On an $86.75 check with $7.16 tax and a $3.00 service fee, a 20% tip is $15.32 instead of $17.35. Surcharges, delivery fees, kitchen fees, and automatic gratuity come out of the tip base while staying in the total. Tip generously on the food. Stop tipping the county and the card reader.

SPLIT THE BILL TO THE EXACT PENNY

Divide any bill, tip included, across up to 20 people. The shares always add back up to the total, and when a bill doesn't divide evenly Pitip shows exactly who covers the extra cent. $100 at 18% across three people is $39.33, $39.33, and $39.34. Nobody quietly eats the rounding, and nobody passes a phone around the table.

ROUND IT, OR NAME YOUR TOTAL

Round the final total up or down for a clean number, or enter the exact amount you want to pay and Pitip works the tip backwards to land on it. Useful for cash, and for a budget. When rounding changes the tip, Pitip shows the effective percentage you're actually leaving.
