Animal Genetic Resources (AnGR) comprise of a large number of described breeds and populations of farm animal and poultry species. India possesses wide array of native breeds of animal species such as Cattle, Buffalo, Sheep, Goat, Poultry, Camel, Equines, Yak, Mithun. The mobile app on animal genetic resources of India (Farm-AnGR-India) provides information on breeding tract and breed characteristics.
The mobile app facilitates a user to select breeds on the basis of an animal species as well as a state. On selecting a breed from the list, photographs of male and female animals of the breed are displayed. Photographs can be enlarged by tapping. Links for displaying data on population, breeding tract, morphology, performance and breed-descriptor are also displayed.
