GroundPin is a shared utility map for UK construction sites. When a crew finds something buried that the drawings missed — a cable, a water main, a gas pipe — they drop a pin with a photo and a note. Every phase that follows sees it before they dig.

WHY IT MATTERS

Utility strikes are the leading cause of serious injury in UK groundworks. CAT scanning and trial-hole excavation still apply — GroundPin doesn't replace them. What it replaces is the chalk mark that washes off, the photo buried in someone's camera roll, and the verbal handover that never quite happened.

If a CDM coordinator or a solicitor later asks who knew what and when, the audit trail is already there.
