This watch face puts a living arcade maze across the middle of your watch. Every minute begins the way the game does: READY! glows yellow inside the ghost house, every dot is back in place, and the cast waits in line. Then Pac-Man is off, chomping his way along every corridor of the maze, with Blinky, Pinky, Inky and Clyde hot on his heels.

Four power pellets blink in the corners. When Pac-Man swallows one, the tables turn: the ghosts go blue, wheel round and flee the way they came, flashing white as their fright runs out. Catch one and it is eaten — its body vanishes and only its eyes are left, scurrying back to the ghost house to be made whole again. Then the ghosts pull themselves together and chase him down again. By the end of the minute the board is clear, Pac-Man is back where he started, and the next round begins.

The maze follows the clock, not your wrist. Glance at your watch at any moment and the game is wherever that second puts it — a fresh board, a frantic chase, or the last few dots — and it is always in step with the time.

Drawn in the spirit of the 1980 original: blue double-line walls with rounded corners, peach dots, the pink ghost-house door, and every number and letter set in a blocky arcade type drawn pixel by pixel.

Everything you need at a glance:
• A big arcade-style digital clock, following your 12/24-hour setting
• Weekday and date
• Battery level with a yellow gauge
• Today's steps beside a pair of pixel footprints
• Your heart rate beside a pixel heart
• A step goal ring around the edge, filling in Pac-Man yellow as you walk

Make it yours: press and hold the watch face, tap Customize, and switch the step goal ring off if you prefer a clean edge. It is on to begin with.

In always-on mode the maze steps aside and only a dim clock stays lit, gently shifting position to protect your screen.
