It is open-source, ad-free, and subscription free.

• No subscription, and support for bringing your own client id
• Shows as many preview images as possible, and displays them large by default

There is an active community for Slide on the /r/slidereddit subreddit, which anybody is welcome to join.

Ratings and reviews

Install instructions at the new old.subreddit. Easy and up and running in minutes. Works smooth so far and feels same as the old slide. Support the app that doesn't collect your data.

Great successor to the original slide app. It was a bit of a hassle to get an api key (client_id), but can't complain for being free. Once you get an api key, enter it into settings>general>reddit client id.

Glad that development on this app was picked back up.
