About this app

Simply hold your phone to your ear to answer an incoming call. When the app detects the phone is near your ear during an incoming call, it will beep 5 times and then answer the call.

No ads, no unnecessary permissions and no unnecessary battery drain. Easy to enable and disable. Doesn't replace your incoming call screen, so you don't need to learn anything new.

This app is Open Source. The source code is available on https://github.com/TheLastProject/RaiseToAnswer.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ NO MORE SWIPING ! Phone rings>pick it up and hold up to your ear>say hello! just like we did with our home phones before they invented cordless. Stock out of the box without changing any settings. Uses proximity sensor. I was a little worried it would automatically answer if I had my phone in my pocket, but that doesn't happen. I also use "WaveUp", which also uses the proximity sensor. No conflicts between the two so far.

Had one false start, where it didn't work while the screen was locked, but afterwards it worked perfectly both when the phone was locked or unlocked. The delays in rejecting or accepting a call seem very well tuned to be short. The in-app interface for controlling behavior is simple and self-explanatory (although the "TEST" button doesn't seem to do anything?). I appreciate the developer linking to the privacy policy to explain the permissions used, as well as publishing the app on F-Droid.

Thanks for your review. The false start issues should be fixed in the 3.x series (which is now available). The test button should beep and tell you when it detected a pickup or flip over. I hear more people say it doesn't do anything but it does on my device. Glad someone cares about F-Droid too :)

I have Umidigi A11 Pro Max which runs stock Android 11. To get it to work, I had to rummage around in phone settings, and the app settings to give it every permission I could find. But that alone was not enough. I also had to go to Settings System DuraSpeed and turn that on. Then there is a long list of applications that you can give permission to, to run in the background. Once I gave this app permission to run in the background, it started to work.
