About this app

Shellby is a modern SSH client built for developers, sysadmins, and anyone who manages remote servers. It does more than connect: an optional AI agent turns plain-language ops tasks into commands and asks for your approval before running each one. No account, no tracking, no data collection.

TERMINAL
• Standards-compliant terminal emulation (xterm-256color)
• Password and SSH key authentication (Ed25519 / RSA / OpenSSH formats)
• Multiple sessions with fast switching
• Command snippets — save frequent commands, insert with one tap
• Terminal color themes and adjustable font size
• Tablet and large-screen adaptive layout

AI ASSISTANT & AGENT (BRING YOUR OWN KEY)
• Describe an ops task in plain language — the agent plans and runs commands step by step
• Every command passes an approval gate; destructive actions require explicit confirmation — nothing runs behind your back
• Connects via standard chat-completion APIs to the service you choose — e.g. DeepSeek, Kimi, GLM, Qwen, or a local Ollama model
• Off by default; you supply your own API key and endpoint — the app ships with no AI service built in

FILES (SFTP)
• Browse, upload, download, rename, delete, create folders
• Chunked streaming transfers — large files without large memory
• Resumable uploads and downloads

PORT FORWARDING & TUNNELS
• Local (-L), remote (-R), and dynamic SOCKS5 (-D) forwarding
• Jump hosts / ProxyJump (-J) with multi-hop chains
• For reaching services inside your own server network (databases, internal dashboards) — not for bypassing network restrictions

SERVER MONITOR
• Live CPU, memory, disk, load average, and top processes on Linux servers

SECURITY & PRIVACY
• Credentials stored only in Android Keystore-backed encrypted storage — never in plaintext
• Host fingerprint verification to prevent man-in-the-middle attacks
• App lock with fingerprint / face unlock (biometrics never leave your device)
• No account, no ads, no analytics SDK, no data collection

SYNC (OPTIONAL)
• Sync hosts and settings through your own WebDAV or S3-compatible storage account
• Sensitive credentials are end-to-end encrypted before they leave the device — your storage provider only ever sees ciphertext
• Off by default; switch it off anytime

You bring your own SSH servers; Shellby connects only to machines you own or are authorized to access.
