About this app

Cherry Music plays the songs already on your phone. No sign-in, no subscription, no streaming catalogue, no ads — just your own files, played properly.

It doesn't even hold the internet permission. Nothing you play or search can leave your device, because the app has no way to send it.


YOUR LIBRARY
• Favorites, Tracks and Playlists, one swipe apart
• Search across your whole library
• Sort by name, artist or date added — or drag tracks into an order of your own
• Select several at once to play, favorite, add to a playlist, share or delete
• Build playlists and reorder them by hand; sort them by name, date or size
• Tell it which folders to skip, so ringtones and voice notes stay out of your music

LYRICS THAT KEEP UP
• Reads a .lrc file sitting next to the song, or lyrics embedded in the track's own tags — no setup either way
• Or pick a lyrics file yourself, for any track
• Timed lyrics scroll themselves and light the line being sung; tap any line to jump straight to it
• Lyrics without timings are simply laid out to be read. No line is faked into lighting up at a moment the file never claimed

PLAYBACK
• Keeps playing in the background, with controls in the notification and on the lock screen
• Headset and Bluetooth buttons work
• Shuffle and repeat
• Sleep timer, from 15 minutes to 2 hours
• Play speed from 0.5x to 2x
• Volume normalization, for libraries ripped at different levels
• Eleven sound effects, one at a time: bass boost, bass reducer, treble boost, vocal boost, music only, vocal only, rock, warm, wide stereo and mono
• Open an audio file from your file manager and it plays here

MADE TO LOOK AT
• The now-playing page takes its color from the album art — a slow drift of haze behind the artwork, in that song's own shade
• A queue you can see, reorder and pull from
• Dark and light themes
• Choose the font and the text size; the layout measures itself and adapts

PRIVACY, PLAINLY
There is no analytics, no account, no tracking and no network code anywhere in the app. A Permissions page in Settings lists every permission it holds and what each one is for, in plain words.

Cherry Music asks for access to audio files, so it can find your music; to run a foreground service, so playback survives you switching apps; and to post notifications, so you get playback controls. That is the whole list. Nothing is collected and nothing is shared.
