About this app
Characters, places, food, transport, objects or symbols of Mexico City in 200 emoji result of a public tender. Share the CDMX from your keyboard.
The CDMX is the first city in the world to create collectively, from a public tender, a pack of emojis representative of the megalopolis.
Emoji CDMX was a call organized by the Laboratory for the City with the support of The Lift, Mexico Design Week, Studio 7 and the Mexican Open Design as allies.
In this open to all citizens contest around 100 proposals packages emoticons representative of Mexico City were received.
From nearly 2,000 iconic images inspired by CDMX 60 smileys for the first three places of the competition met:
Itzel Oropeza.
Eduardo Camacho and Pedro Grajeda.
Ivonne Torres and Martin Cook.
140 smileys honorable mentions and a choice of prime minister, Miguel Angel Mancera were also included:
Eric Riviello Francisco Huerta and Denisse Hernandez Delgado.
Gabriela Luna López, Ixchel Xala Xutzi, Guillermo Linares Hernandez and Daniel Dominguez.
Irvyn Gustavo García Rojo.

Emoji CDMX functions as a social thermometer that facilitates narrating the city, understand a capital that constantly creates new meanings or referents. In addition, it grants a current reference for the city tell ourselves and others.

Les daría 5 estrellas, puesto que los diseños están con madre.... Pero NO SON EMOJIS, uds prometieron emojis. No imágenes. Que carajos? Neta, después no hay manera de defender que en México se hacen las cosas bien. Fuera de eso, un aplauso para los ganadores!

Dibujos bonitos, pero no son emojis. Solo se mandan como imagen grande, no se pude escribir y es tedioso cambiar de teclado cada vez que quieres usar una de las imágenes.

Chafísima el teclado de letras desaparece y solo entra el de los emojis que además entra como imagen no como emoji y para poder usar el teclado normal hay que desactivar el de los emojis chilangos. Es una buena idea lanzada antes de que realmente funcione.
