Edit: Updated to 4 stars. I contacted support and the response was almost immediate. They forwarded me a link and I was able to confirm my email address. The app does indeed look to work on my Galaxy S9+. I love the desktop version. The mobile app does not work at all. Instead of one star, it gets two, since I did get the warning that the mobile app was designed for an older version of Android. I could stall the app but the verification email never arrived. I wish I could utilize this software.

Your data isn't secure if you have to ask permission to access it over the internet from a random company that can arbitrarily revoke permission at any time. Requiring one to identify themselves with their email address is a completely unnecessary violation of privacy. $5 per month to encrypt personal files is unreasonable. The AES is free and available in many other apps free of charge.

Desktop free version is great, and since I store all my encrypted files in OneDrive, I thought it would be handy to have this app in case I ever needed to open them when I am away from my PC. The website describes how you can only open and read encrypted files (but not create them) but it's does NOT tell you that you have to have a subscription for it to work at all. So this app was installed on my phone for just long enough to open it, learn about the subscription trick, and then uninstall it.
