At first It looks good but unfortunately it does encrypted as it is said in description. Most of the time need to open and change files in the phone and this app just let me open them in read mode. Any change in the documents should be save as new doc and it won't be encrypted anyway so I find the app quite useless. I'll change to premium version when android app does encrypt files
Love it on my laptop for years. Like the rest of comments "bait and switch" requiring paid subscription is NOT a customer centric way of doing business. I will not "subscribe" to assure access to my own data. Charge me a reasonable fee for a product that spans devices and doesn't require annual renewal. I would buy that. I will not put my own data in jail which may not allow me to retrieve it years down the road - when axcrypt disappears. I want an app that protects my data, shareable across my devices. I need to OWN that app so I am assured access forever more. I will now shop for a replacement on my laptop too.
Suspicious I've been using Axcrypt for years on my desktop and have been begging for an Android version for almost as long (no good putting encrypted files in the Cloud if you can't access them ever when on the road with an Android tablet). Now, we finally have an Android version and it forces me to set up an account? WHY??? All I want is to decrypt my files! DOA! What a letdown!
Additional platforms requiring the premium subscription is highway robbery. Screwed the pooch on this one guys. I was considering the premium subscription until I saw you charging to access extra platforms. It ain't right. Reply to dev: I know, that's what I said. I stopped using lastpass because they use the same scheme: mobile platform requires premium subscription.
The PC version is great but here at Android it starts already that it can't handle screen rotation on my Samsung Tab S with Lollipop 5.0.2 (have it upside down when charging because of the cable). The other two disappointments are that it just can read but not write and that you have to pay for using it. There are free or ad supported options for encryption and some (but not all) can be even used with an SD card. No idea what is planned at this AxCrypt app in this respect.
I've use AxCrypt for years , hoping for a mobile application. Still don't have one. It can't be used w/o signing in AND it is IMPOSSIBLE to sign in, with a secure password. The one that works on windows is ALWAYS wrong on android. The idiot captcha is only wrong 86% of the time. Then, when you actually dumb it down enough to work you end up looking at a $26/year subscription required. Total insanity.
Various issues and crashes fixed.. This is release candiate 3.
